  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

I know of most of the schools on the list. A handful could use a police presence but most are just parents being overly anxious.

And that is exactly what the situation is in most of the urban schools in the US, but it isn't being played that way by our critics.

Yep, go to the coach for a paddle on the ass or go to the principal's office and he would call home. Then the old man would take a belt to your ass. I chose the coach route, pops was fierce if an authority figure had to contact him about his kid. Nowadays, parents cry foul if you tell them that Johnny is a distraction in class, blame everyone except their child. Spare the rod, spoil the child.

Well ya look at all your school shootings and such attitudes your kids are programmed with like the guns are your rights. Heck any smart person would be cautious.

The reason that the police are in the US schools has nothing to do with school shootings, it has to do with student violence against their peers and the faculty. Which has everything to do with the disrespect of authority figures and the rights of others.

This is something that even the Canadian authorities are having problems with, it knows no borders.

Absolutely no police in schools here either (Spain), other than visiting for a talk about safety or the like (just like the firemen etc.) No needed at all and it would be heavily disapproved by most people. And we don't have exactly harsh school discipline here; on the opposite, many people think it's too soft. Oh, and obviously corporal punishment has been totally banned for ages at all educational institutions and levels, since soon after Franco died. Hit a pupil by whatever reason but strict, obvious, clearly witnessed physical self-defense and you're fired, arrested and possibly serving some time with very slim probabilities of working as a teacher ever again.

While of course there can be some trouble here and there or then, just like anywhere in the world, they usually are very far from needing the presence of police at schools. If something really bad happens, well, then sure the cops can be called, but i haven't seen it happening at any school i've attended or know of, public or private, in big cities or small towns, ever. It's something you only see in the news, maybe once a year or less, and we're 46+ million people here, including about 11% of non-naturalized immigrants. Right now i can't recall any case of a kid being murdered while at school by any reason or situation, either. Closest thing have been suicides because of bullying (which invariably happen out of the school premises), and it's kinda big news when it happens because it's quite unusual. There was a case last October and it was on national TV and newspapers and "burning Twitter" for weeks, and it still reappears when there are court news about it.

(Just to make it clear, it's the suicides which invariably happen out of school premises, the bullying can obviously happen both inside and outside the school.)

Part of the problem in Baltimore is that there are numerous police departments that run independently of each other and the officer in this incident works for the Baltimore School Police which is separate from the city police.

As of 2015 there have been 136 officers killed in the line of duty in Baltimore ... sounds like they go looking for trouble and seem to have either found or made it.

Oh i see. Sorry, English is not my mother language and it got "lost in translation." That's a more reasonable number for sure. Still, certainly that's still a lot of dead cops for a single city!

Oh, and now that i'm in the uni, no college campus police or anything like that either. There's some private security, mostly for access control to restricted areas and the like, who i guess could be summoned if something violent happened. i guess it because i haven't seen it happening or heard of it.

Ah, and a volunteer "traffic corps" for traffic violations inside the campus (almost invariably parking offences.) They mostly slap a sticker on your windshield warning you that next time the tow truck will be called, which they rarely do. That's all.
