I'm not saying there aren't aliens, personally I believe there are...
But that show drives me nuts. Yes, the figurines, yes to the landing strips, but I think we were probably almost a slave species.
Now, they have trouble figuring out how the pyramids, or the other great temples were built...
They didn't have work safety or overtime pay back then. The people in charge didn't give a shit if people died, or died from overwork.
Just because the people creating that show couldn't figure it out, is no reason to say "Aliens built it!"

Everywhere on earth has been covered by ocean at some point. I live in the rocky mountains, and we have landlocked ocean fish in our lakes too. Off my head, the sculpin, a relative of the toxic Lionfish.

It's possible they helped us, but if they were so far advanced, why are we only now discovering the math and medical things we need to continue as a species? Why didn't they teach us basic health instead of building huge stone monuments with anti-gravity wands?

I guess humans and engineers are too stupid to figure anything out. We must have been taught everything by (imagine really weird alien movie music here) and me softly and creepily hissing "aliens".

Common, seriously, they don't exist. The sooner you accept it, the better (for reasons that will be apparent in due time).

There are different levels of development, intelligence, culture (mentality), technology, etc.

One thing must be clear: we must be VERY stupid to believe that humans are the ones and only-es across the universe.

And an addendum to my argument:
The antic people considered the atom ( a thomos - meaning the thing that cannot be divided) as the smallest thing.
It took two thousand years for the humans to find out that the atom was made of a nucleus and electrons, just like I've learned in school.

It took ONLY a few decades to reach the knowledge of today about subcuantics, biochemistry, etc...

Now, coming back to the "atom" - at a larger scale, the scientists have already discovered that the universe is composed with a similar structure - just "atoms", larger, and larger, and larger...

And - to be very clear - the more you learn and reach to know about something, you realize how much more you need to learn!

About you being there, I can only speculate that you were going through sleep paralysis or certain parts of your brain were stimulated in such a way that perhaps you felt you were in:

1. A divine presence.
2. Floating.
3. There were lots of figures around you.

Anyway, I look into the science of magnetic fields affecting the brain. So far, they have explained a vast majority of these paranormal "experiences".

I shall tell you only this: many centuries religion was the utmost of everything.
Meanwhile, in modern days, people have started to make science become the utmost.

Religion appeared due to the necessity of implementing some rules of conduct - what has become of it, you know.

Science has also appeared due to a necessity of a better life.

Initially, both were supposed to "be good" for the people.

So, I'm not a fan of religion, but I also cannot "worship" science.

I only use to try to keep myself updated now and then, so that I won't become an ignorant - I would hate to see my son looking at me in bewilderment, asking me: "What?!? You haven't heard about that?!?"

I don't know about you, but, at 53, I have realized that things cannot be "black or white", "right or wrong", etc...

1. There are no aliens.
2. There is no known purpose for existence.
3. Religion and all its claims are a scam.

Like I said, there are two groups of people, those who know this and those who are going to find out.

To address the hunting issue...I eat meat. That means creatures die. Should I buy it at the store, and remove myself from the fact that something died to fill my belly? Why shouldn't I kill a few deer, when there are so many, without any natural predators left, that they are starving to death? This happened here, 6 years ago. Myself, I fed the ones on my property. I hunt them, I should damn well feed them if they run into trouble.
Other people didn't. You could see deer, by the dozens, dead where they had been walking, looking for food. Those same people complain that I kill...1. 1! A year. Those people couldn't get off their fat asses and drag a hay bale into the bush and feed the poor things?

Personal responsibility. It was someone else's job. Just like killing the cow's at the store was.

We will explore space, eventually we will find an alien race, or they will find us. I think it would be the best thing possible for our species.

We finally wouldn't have to kill each other, we'd have something else to eradicate, and invent new weapons that we can turn into something we use in day to day life. Like the microwave, invented by the military. Tell me you've never used one.

I had a mutt, that killed coyotes and drove away people trying to break into the house. I have his son, who we've raised the same way, who killed a coyote last week.
